Bike Rental Tips:
• Avoid Sunburn by covering up with hats or long sleeve shirts or using sunscreen. The
sun is very strong here, especially in the summer, and you could burn very quickly.
• Stay Hydrated The heat and humidity here is very strong and you can easily get
dehydrated or even suffer from sunstroke so always a good idea to drink an extra bottle
of water or sports drinks.
• Avoid Theft by always keeping your bike inside your hotel or condo bldg. overnight and
not locked out on the street. For weekly rentals please keep your bikes stored inside or
locked up under a roofed area during rainy weather. The chains and brakes rust quickly
from the salt rain here and can seize up after a heavy rain. Always use the Ulocks we
provide and attach the lock to something secure like a signpost or bike rack. If the bike
is lost or stolen you will be responsible for the replacement cost. Please remove the key
from the lock when not in use to avoid risk of damage to key or basket.
• Road Safety. Your safety while riding our bikes is our top concern. Please pay special
attention to direction of one way streets and taxi and van drivers who often drive
aggressively and don’t watch out for cyclists. We have helmets and lights available for a
small additional charge. Use caution during heavy rains since large potholes can be
hidden by standing water. Keep the 2 parts of the lock closed together with key removed
when not in use to avoid lock seizing up from rain.
• Don’t Over Inflate Tires. Most of our bikes are basic beach cruisers that can not handle
tire pressure above 30 psi. We understand that many people are used to bikes with high
pressure tires and may want to add more air to the tires. In most cases this is not
necessary and may cause the tires to explode which could lead to additional charges.
Please visit our location or another professional bike shop if you think you need to add
air to avoid overinflation and damages.
